Model HK Series

The HK Series is our most fully equipped heavy-duty table top disintegration work center. The vertical duplex cross-arm support system gives you the rigidity you need at the full reach of the big 813MM (32") cross-arms. Re-circulating cross-arm ball bearings give the head support fingertip-touch ease of movement for fast and easy setup and work piece changeover.

Machines from this series are an excellent choice for high-production manufacturers of larger castings such as diesel engine blocks and heads, and heavy-equipment components.

Standard features:

1295MM wide x 1003MM deep (51" x 39.5") cast iron work top with machine-ground surface and eight T-slots to secure the work piece.
Steel base cabinet of heavy reinforced steel frame construction. Holds 4000-lb.-capacity work top 813MM (32") above floor on six machine levelers with heavy-duty rubber-wheel casters to allow repositioning.
The disintegration head support system (superstructure) consist of a 70MM (2 3/4") diameter column with 1270MM (50") inches in length. The cross arms are 38MM (1 1/2") in diameter and are 762MM (30") long. Set up and head positioning is fast and easy with our re-circulating ball bearing packs guiding the head in and out with the touch of a finger.
The HK10QT disintegration head support system (superstructure) offers a massive 1270MM (50") high 114MM (4 1/2") diameter column and two 915MM (36") long by 57MM (2-1/4") diameter cross arms that provide tremendous vertical rigidity for accuracy over the long haul. The cross arms rotate 335° around the column; and the head rotates 360° around the cross arm assembly.
A motorized cross arm lift moves the head support to where it's needed without hand cranking and the motorized cross arm drive brings the head over the target quickly and easily. The fine-pitched worm drive holds each slide into position. This superstructure combined with our largest table and heavy-duty disintegrating head with auto feed make up the best machine for large parts and castings.

Standard Model Features

There are five basic models in the Model HK series. Each model is distinguished by its head and feed options. See below for descriptions of head types, auto feed functionality, and lift rack capability.

Larger diameter holes require more power to maintain an effective arc. HK10 is available with our 10, 15 KVA or 20 KVA power supply.

Option Descriptions

Head Type
There are two head types: the portable Arc-er head and the "Q" type. The portable Arc-er disintegrator head provides reliable, accurate general-purpose service with minimal maintenance. It has a state-of-the art LED amp meter right in the body to make process control easy. The head is 318MM (12 1/2") long overall and weighs 5.5 lbs. A 12.7MM (1/2") diameter, 51MM (2") long straight shank allows the head to be used remotely in fixtures or with other machine tools.

The "Q" type head is our top performer. This in-the-quill disintegrator head gives continuous, reliable, heavy-duty service for the most demanding applications and carries a three-year warranty. The head is 83MM (3 1/4") diameter, hard chromed and precision ground with 051MM (.002) run-out and 229MM (9") of vertical rack and pinion travel.

Auto Feed Unit
On selected units we offer an auto feed option that delivers a transistorized feed providing up to 229MM (9") of uninterrupted feed for hands free operation. It features an adjustable automatic shut off, auto stop capability, variable two-speed performance, a feed rate selector and a plug-in integrated circuit board.

Spring loaded feed units are standard on all machines and assist the operator in feeding the disintegrator head in a continuous movement. The feed system can be manually adjusted for depth stop and have automatic shut-off.

Lift Rack
A 305MM (12") Lift Rack is provided to raise and lower the cross arm. A hand crank, beveled gears and worm gear moves the cross arm assembly quickly and safety.
